I’m all for locking down IE in a corporate environment but sometimes it gets too restrictive and you can’t configure IE for troubleshooting or testing. Now you could unrestrict IE by configuring a GPO but I don’t always find that satisfactory and it can be time consuming.
Due to this you can find the options for unlocking Internet Options in the following locations:
1. Connect to the registry of the computer and navigate to ‘HKU\ <SID of User>’
2. Then navigate to ‘Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions’ and set ‘NoBrowserOptions’ to 0 from 1
3. You’ll also need to set all of the keys under ‘Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel’ to 0 from 1
Note these are policy locations, for settings not configured by policy look somewhere else (you should be able to work it out).
